MP Navigator EX 5.0 not working for my MX870 printer on my Mac with OS 10.13.6

I just upgraded the operatig system on my macbook pro to 10.13.6 (High Sierra). Now the MP navigator app, which i just downloaded wont open and gives me an error message that says my printer (MX870) isn't listed/supported.

The printer is actually working ok. I just want to figure out how to use the printer for scanning now, and without the software working I can't use the scanner.

HELP?!?!

The MX driver available is not officially compatible with any OS after 10.11 (El Capitan)  Support under High Sierra is not certified or guaranteed.  

You may need to uninstall the software and printer instance from your MAC, then download and install only what is certified to run under OSX High Sierra.
