My MX700 had been working fine for years. Today, after scanning a color document and specifying the filename and address for the scanned document to save, the software became stuck at the next window View & Use. It does not show any thumbscale image of scanned documents as usual but only this message in small print at the center: "In progress...Please wait a few moments." I've waited for hours without any thing happening. The software did not respond at all when I clicked on any of the function, not even to close it. The only way I could close it was to shut down the PC entirely. Nonetheless, the scanned document was stilled saved at the address under the filename as specified. I have tried reinstalling the entire software set without any luck. I would much appreciate any help. Cheers.

Same problem with Canoscan 8800F. Updated driver, still no help. OS Windows 7, kept updated.
