MP250 printer ink cartridges have had numbers changed from 510 and 511 to 210 and 211. Printer will not recognize the new number cartridges. How to fix this?

Hi bjmac993,

The PIXMA MP250 that is sold in the United States has always used the PG-210 and CL-211 ink tanks.  The PG-510 and CL-511 are ink tanks for the European counterpart and only work with the European model.  If you purchased the PIXMA MP250 overseas, you would be limited to using the ink cartridges sold in Europe.

Where can I buy the 510 ink?

So are you telling me I need to buy a new printer just because I moved? Also, I just spent $65 on cartridges that said they would be compatible; can I get a refund?

The answer is yes, you will have to buy a new printer or find a source for the ink. That made me angry so I tossed my canon printer into the trash and bought me a new HP printer.
