My sister's Windows 7 PC died so she was forced to buy a new one running windows 11.
The printer works as it should but the scanner no longer functions and the link showing the scanner is gray'd out.
I had her use the updated software that was the latest version available on the product page and also had her connect the printer to her wireless network but still no scanner function.
I'm aware this is an older model but it worked fine on Windows 7 .
Any idea on what I should have her try next ?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MG8220 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for getting back to me .
The issue unfortunately with my sister is she absolutely hates change .
She is in her 70s and although she could absolutely afford a replacement I'm hopeful someone will have a suggestion that could get it up and running.
I am a computer repair technician but she lives alone in another state so until I've exhausted all avenues I'm not ready to raise the white flag lol.
I sure there is something I've not thought of and maybe someone with a similar issue will chime in.
Again thank you
