MG7120 won't power off

The printer won't power off using the power button. It displays "processing - please wait momentarily". Occasionally the mechanics sound like it's going to shut itself off but it never does. 

Network printing is enabled,

Unplugging the power cord gets a hand slap. syaing " use the power button to power off" when plugged back in.

Any ideas on how to power off this printer? it used to work.
