I am out of magenta ink and want to print in black. In acrobat, the color is specified "Black and White" and the printer preferences are "gray scale". I expect a black and white print but get green, which means the printer is printing color without magenta which leaves green. So my question is: Can I print in black and white if one of the color cartridges is empty????
THanks

Hello.
Adequate levels of ink are needed in all ink slots in order for the unit to be able to print. If an "empty" warning is appearing, you will need to replace the tank even if you will be performing grayscale or black and white printing.

Hi Michael, I have been able to print with magenta out of ink. So I do not need all my cartridges not empty in order to print. I did find my own solution. I was printing a PDF file from Acrobat within Chrome and having issues with printing black only. If I downloaded the file, opened in Adobe Reader, and printed in black.....everything worked.
