Just Installed Pixma G7020 and can print but can't scan

I just received and set up the Pixma G7020 through an ethernet connection.  Printing works well, but scanning doesn't work at all.

Background:

  • Prior to setup, I uninstalled all Canon software and drivers for two previous Canon printers
  • Installed drivers per the instructions using an ethernet connection and the installation completed successfully
  • Successfully printed in color and black/white
  • Successfully copied from the ADF (so the issue is not the ability of the printer to scan a document)
  • When I attempted to scan through my Neat application (www.neat.com), it locates the scanner, but doesn't think there is any paper loaded into the ADF (there is)
  • When I try to scan through Windows Fax and Scan, the scanner does not show up as an option

I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times and the outcome is the same.  

Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

Another wrinkle - I was able to scan from the Canon IJ Scan Utility.  But still not able to scan from Neat or from Windows Fax and Scan.

I've also installed on a second PC and get the same result.
