IP2820 Canon printer B200 Error message

littleace
Apprentice

Hello!

I have been trying to solve this error message.  I have unplugged it, plugged it back in, etc.  Everything I have read says change the printer cartridges; however, my cartridges are no longer moving when I power up the printer.  Will manually moving the cartridges suddenly start moving after I manually move them and replace the cartridges with new ones?

Thanks!

Greetings,

The error does indicate a printhead overheating issue or failure...  however, the ink carrier not moving is a different issue.

I would be extremely reluctant on buying new ink for a printer that might not be recoverable.  You can try to move the carrier gently, manually (note gently) .  If it doesn't move out to the center for cartridge replacement when the cover is opened, I wouldn't buy new ink.

Hi littleace,

The B200 error is an indication that your PIXMA iP2820 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002.  They're available weekdays and Saturdays after 9 AM ET (6 AM PT). Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
