I would find the Quick Menu to be useful when I have intended use for one of the functrions of my Pixma MG5520, but to have it opening with Windows every time I boot up is ridiculous. Is there any way to stop this? It is in the start menu, anyway, so I am sure I can get it up and running when I need it. I see nothing in settings or the manual about changing this function. I am aware that I can close it after the fact by right clicking in the corner box of the shortcut menu, but I use the printer infrequently enough that I'd prefer to not even have to bother with that. The way this functions strikes me as being similar in its intrusiveness to Microsoft deciding with Windows 8 to tell everyone what they should have in their start menu and where it should be on their desktop, rahter than just leaving it tucked away in the corner where you can go for it when you need it.

Hi RobRed,
If you do not want the Quick Menu to launch when your computer starts, the next time that is launches, right-click over the fourth square at the bottom of the Quick Menu and select the Preferences option. In the window that opens, uncheck the Start Quick Menu When Windows Starts option, then click the OK button to save the changes and exit out of the window and application.
Hope this helps!

Sorry for not responding in a reasonably prompt fashion. Somehow I managed to lose track of my user name for this forum, and when asked at login if you've forgotten user name or password, as is so often the case, they send a link that only allows you to change your password and does not help with the user name issue. Anyway, I finally figured it out (to my surprise, changing my password when I didn't really need to got me onto the forum, where I could see my user name).
Thanks for your assistance. It worked of course. I just put a shortcut to the printer menu on my toolbar where it is more than adequately accessible, and now everything is ideal.
I meant no offense, but I sent this identical message to two different souls who responded to me, just in order to assure you were both thanked for your time. I presume hopefully that each of you will get this in your email, or at least a link to it that one would not have gotten if I responded to only one. I know it will look peculiar in a thread to have the same message twice.
