I am getting an error b200 on my pixma mp620 printer. What should I do to fix this?

Is there a fix for a canon pixma 620 that is giving me an error message 620. I reset the printer -- unplugged for 10+ minutes.  That didn't work.  Then took the print head out and cleaned and dried it.  Replaced it .....that didn't work.  Is there a home fix for this.  If not I will be in the market for a good all in one printer...scanner etc.  Any suggestions.  Thanks glwun

Jeimer_M - Yes your solution worked for me first time. Thanks for the tip.

Oops - no it didn't - the error came straight back next time I tried to print.

Thanks, JelmerM! Worked like magic, and your English is great 🙂

I visited Canon Solution Menu EX, found my printer driver needed an update. That solved the problem.

This must be the month of the B200. I too suddenly got the B200 code on my Pixma MP620 this late last week. I printed one page then tried a second and suddenly it came. Now I did let my ink cartridge run nearly dry and should have changed it. After reading the forums and other googled sources I did just about all of them and particular the flushing of the print head that I removed and eventually sunday soaked it in rubbing alcohol. But still B200. Changed cardtridges to fresh, still B200. Each day since sunday when passing the printer I opened the lid where cardtridges can be seen, turned it on and went through the sequence. Each time after closeing the lid when the message lid open displayed, it would finish booting and get to the B200. That is until today. It suddenly finished its sequence of boot and was in ready mode. I quickly tried to print and it worked. I then used the utilities to see clean the heads and such. I suspect because I don't use color much and print with gray scale always set and I left the empty black cartridge in too long empty it must have clogged up my head ports or such.  Time will tell how long this will last. I was just about to buy the Epson WF3640 for 129 at STAPLES.  You hear that CANON!.  I had my pixma now about 4yrs or less. Never a problem before. I am n ot going to spend 60 bucks on a printer head with hopes of it working when I can buy a new printer with double trays and much more features for only 60 more than that while it was on a great sale this week. So if your head looks clean and not burnt, I would give it a few cycles of powering on and cycling through the lid is open sequence (dont just power it on, but open the cartridge bay lid and then power it on as I think it is cycling the ink heads).

Like so many others, I had the same problem—error code B200. After trying all of the suggestions on this forum to try to fix on my own, I e-mailed Tech Support. Gabriel responded the same day & advised me to phone Canon Tech Support Dept 1-800-828-4040 & say I've been "working with email tech support and the Service and Exchange Program was offered." When I phoned, Richard of Tech Support referred me to the Sales Department, where I spoke with Yvonne, who was very pleasant and helpful. She offered 25% savings or sale price on ordering a different printer. I'd researched in Consumer Reports and asked about features of Pixma MX472 ($70) and MG5420 ($150). She informed me the 5420 has been replaced by the 5520 and 5620. After discussing benefits, I chose the 5620, at the sales price of $70 plus tax and free shipping in 2-3 days. I look forward to receiving it as the happy conclusion to the frustrating early experience.

Actually I don't care anymore. My printer did not work after printing once or twice after I thought it fixed itself. I moved on to the Epson WF 3640 unit...that was a great price at Staples at the end of August. Canon lost a customer without being up front on what the expected problem is other than trying to sell us all new printers. I have an older epson before I bought the pixma. The first epson is now some 20 years old nearly and still working...the pixma was only about 4years old. Time will tell if Epson makes good products still.  At least Canon could offer a reasonably priced printer head to try to replace than 50+ bucks which can nearly by you another cheap printer.
