It's a PIXMA mg 2525 using windows 10 connection internet using power cord.   It will not install step 3 and 4. Keeps saying driver not found.

You sound confused. Is this printer new?  Do you have the installation instructions, and software that comes with it?

This is a USB-connect printer. No wireless.There's no Ethernet involved.

Typically you need to install the software/driver before connecting the printer to the computer.

Brand New yes to CD will not go past step 3 alignment

Start from scratch. Look at Windows's Settings-> Apps and if there is anything listed related to this printer, uninstall it....driver, software....restart the computer, and start from the beginning, with printer not plugged into power outlet and NOT connected to the computer. If following ALL the instructions PRECISELY still doesn't work, call Canon. There's always a possibility the printer is defective.
