G3270 - Brand new - LCD illuminated but blank

Just bought a PIXMA G3270 Wireless MegaTank All-In-One Printer and put it together but at no point has the LCD ever had anything displayed on it; it is fully illuminated but completely blank. The printer goes through what seems like its initial steps when it powers up but I get no screen at any point. It's almost like the firmware is bricked. Any thoughts before I return this to Amazon?
