Many office supply stores take them for recycling, and some even give you store credit or loyalty rewards for them.

Give them to FedEx which has partnered with Canon to send them off to recycle them... or give them to Staples, etc, who will also recycle them and will also pay you for each cartridge.... one of those is more appealing, no? Just saying....
