What's the difference? I changed the page size and trype directly on the printer to see but on the driver it didn't change. Are both required. I have a PIXMA MX 492 on Windows 10.

Hi MidnightNarwhal,
The printer driver allows to you select the paper size and type when printing from your computer, and selecting the settings directly on the printer allows you to select the paper size and type when photocopying and scanning directly from the printer. You will only need to select the paper size and type directly on the printer when making photocopies or scanning directly from the printer; otherwise, you will want to select the paper size and type in the application you are printing from on your computer, or in the printer driver.
Hope this helps!

Ah okok makes sense, so if I'm just looking at printing an envelope, just change it in the driver.
Cool thanks
