Canon ipf605 Printhead Error

I work at a school distrcit that uses the ipf605 printer. It has been reliable, but all of the sudden I got an error message and a prompt to replace the printhead. So I tried to run through various restart methods and to no avail. So I ended up replacing the printhead with a brand new one, but the message will not reset or go away. I cannot get the printer past the replace printhead message. I did restart in S mode, but it still will not get past the message.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
