Canon Pixma MG2550 Scanner not detected

Tobia

Hello,

just installed new driver to allow my Canon Pixma MG2550 to work with Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1 . It works well as a printer but my Mac doesn't recognise it as a scanner anymore. Any tips on how to make it work as a scanner as well? Thanks!

Hello there, thank you for the info! Actually, I've just solved it: I found another drive you can download from Canon website itself  - no need of third party, then. Here's the link to the Italian version of the website as I am in Italy, but you probably can find also in their other country versions) (https://www.canon.it/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series...  :

Versione file: 5.0.0

This driver is expressly meant for scanning and I couldn't find for Ventura because it hasn't been updated yet. But, the good news is that I tried to download the Monterey version and it works fine even with Ventura! Hope this can help!  Best

I have the MG7210 but have the same problem. In another forum it said to download VueScan, which I did, but it is not free, costs $25 and to me it doesn't seem right that I should have to use a third party add on when this printer and scanner was working fine until Ventura came along.
