Canon PIXMA TR4720 WIRELESS ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER Using the FAX

Hi new with using this newest model canon printer scanner copier and fax; use the fax infrequently only just noted when I click on faxing from operations panel I see FAX MODE START/OFFHOOK, never noticed before just started inputting number after clicking FAX button then send by clicking black button above start. I assume it just means I'm on the phone line ready to send FAX, correct?

Hi,

If you hit start, you should hear a dial tone just like you would if you picked up a phone to check for a dial tone. Just a quick way to check.
