My MX 430 printer works fine; however, I keep getting a Windows Update notification that there is an optional 14.4MB file to download and install for the FAX. I have tried multiple times to complete the process, but the notification keeps returning, which makes me think it hasn't yet installed properly. Any idea what the problem might be??
Windows Updater works fine for other purposes and I am on Windows 7 Professional.
Thanks, Bill

Does this just apply to FAX? I probably haven't used FAX in over 10 years. Don't even have a phone line connected to my computer anymore.
I've been getting the same notification for my MX450 in Windows 8.
I've "successfully" installed the update 3 times, but I still get notifications about it.

Hi demasow and JeffL,
Any updates for your Canon printer through the Windows Update system are provided and managed by Microsoft. If you are having issues installing these updates, I recommend contacting Microsoft for further support.
However, to ensure that you have the most up to date drivers, visit our website. You can download the drivers from the following page: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support

According to my update history, it installed fine. I just keep getting the same notification that the (optional) update is availabe. I didn't know it was a Micorsoft issure. I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon. I just started having a similar issued with an Office update (KB2764011) on my XP notebook. One minute after installing it, I get notififed that the same update is ready to be installed. My research shows that it is a Microsoft problem http://www.infoworld.com/t/microsoft-windows/microsoft-botches-still-more-patches-in-latest-automati...
