Unable to scan. Keep getting error notice code 140. Printer is in use or an error has occurred. Check status. Scanner driver will close. Code:2,140,21. Should I try printing something to clear this out? UPDATE: I printed a random page and it cleared. The scanner now works.
Also for last 3 months I get a popup every time I print saying Ink Absorber is almost full. I can override this and print by pushing the start button. But I wonder if the printer needs some kind of service.

It does need service, but I don't think you will like my response:
The "Ink Absorber Almost Full" message on the Canon MG2520 indicates that the printer's waste ink reservoir is nearing its capacity. This reservoir collects excess ink during printing and cleaning cycles.
Resetting the Printer: Unfortunately, the Canon MG2520 is often considered a disposable printer. Many users report difficulties in resetting the ink absorber counter. Some service tools may work, but results can vary.
Cleaning the Ink Absorber: If you are comfortable, you can clean the ink absorber pads. This involves disassembling the printer, which may void the warranty.
Replacement Options: If the printer cannot be reset or cleaned effectively, consider replacing the printer.
Service Center: Contact a Canon service center for professional assistance. They can reset the ink absorber counter or provide maintenance.
New Printer: If repairs are not feasible, investing in a new printer may be the best option, especially if you frequently print.
The "Ink Absorber Almost Full" message is a common issue with the Canon MG2520. While there are some DIY solutions, professional help or a new printer may be necessary for a long-term fix. Equivalent Canon printers can be had for under 50 dollars from both Walmart and Amazon, or a good upgrade is the MG3620 which unlike yours or ones like it will print 8x10 glossy paper photos. the 3620 is a good printer (I know I have one) and is available on Amazon for less than 75 dollars.
