Cannot communicate with the printer. Open the print queue and uncheck Pause Printing in the Printer

Cannot communicate with the printer.
Open the print queue and uncheck Pause Printing in the Printer menu. I have tried turning it off and on. I have tried unplugging the usb cable. I have turned the computer on and off. What do I do to clear this, besides buying a new printer?
