Cannot Print Nozzle Check from Laptop but can from printer (G3270)

Hello,

My new Canon MegaTank G3270 arrived this afternoon and I have it all set up. I have a couple of questions though.

Before my printer arrived I downloaded the software  for it from Canon's website. After going through the printer setup

(which automatically installed some software) I installed the software I downloaded not know what the printer  had already installed and what I needed to install. When done I noticed that there were 2 items form Canon MegaTank 3270 in my Windows 10 Devices and Printer section. I deleted the 2 nd item (which had a "1" in brackets).  I set the original item as default. Later I tried to use the default item to print a nozzle check and print head alignment from using the G3270 in Devices and Printers but  both failed with message that printer was not connected etc. I successfully printed the nozzle check and printhead alignment sheets from the printer itself. The printer does print documents on my laptop, scan documents to my laptop and copies fine. I can't figure out why it won't print the nozzle check or print head alignment from Devices and Printer but WILL print a test page from there.

Any ideas? Do I need to uninstall the software and go through the printer auto setup again? If so , how  would I do that?

Thanks!

Final note on this issue. Printer works perfectly when using Wi-Fi on my PC. Printer now works with Printer Assistant Tool and Devices & Printers sometimes when used wired connection to my router (and always when trying to print a doc). So my take away from this is that the printer gets confused if I change from Wi-Fi to wired or wired to Wi-Fi when trying to do maintenance on my printer from my laptop. It can now work both ways (W-Fi and wired) but doesn't like to be changed. I'm going to mark this as solution even though I'm not sure exactly what is going on here.

More Info: Uninstalled all Canon software, removed G3270 from Devices & Printers. Rebooted and reset G3270 to factory setting. Ran Master set up and added software. Connected wirelessly and can scan, copy and  print from PC Dell Inspiron 5577 laptop running Windows 10). Everything works except cannot access printer maintenance from Device & Printers or Canon Printer Assistant tool. Can access fine from printer itself. Ran  WiFi Connection Assistant, succesful-prints test page. Still can't connect with Device-Printer or Canon Printer Assistant tool. Went to printer and entered manual wifi info including password. Connected ok. Try to connect to printer maintenance via Device & Printers and Printer assistant. Both fail and give error message "The Process could not be performed. Check that the printer is connected to the computer and that the power is on. etc." Printed Network configuration page and section 2 Network Diagnostics says: 2-1 Diagnostic Result-There is no problem. 2-2 Result Codes :C-0 2-3 Result Code Details     http://canon.com/ijnwt   .Checked code C-0 there. Firewall allows everything with name Canon through as well as wifi Connection Assistant. The name of the router is same for firewall and printer.

I can access the maintenance functions via the printer directly but it would be nice if the software that is supposed to allow access worked.

I am at a loss of how to fix this issue. This is my third Canon printer with Wi-Fi and I never had this problem with the previous two.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Randy-I'm aware of the  other support options but so far they have not been very helpful. This is a very odd problem I think.

The printer responds to my laptop when I want to print a document or picture but says I have no connection when I try to connect using Devices & Printers or the Printer Assistance Tool. I can do the maintenance from the screen  on the computer also. It seems very odd the  printer will find a connection for some things and not for others, all of which are on the same  laptop.

More info: My laptop is connected to the router by a cable. I just unplugged the cable and using the laptop's wireless capability, everything works. So the problem occurs when my laptop is plugged in and not when it is using Wi-Fi.

Still would like to know what is going on.
