The serial number you have entered is invalid for one or more of the following reasons:

1) The serial number does not match the product you have selected (FCC ID which starts with "AZD" is often mistaken for serial number.)
2) The serial number entered indicates this product was not intended for sale in the United States and is ineligible for registration and support in the U.S.

Please verify your product model and serial number to ensure they were entered correctly.

When you call our support line at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), you will not be prompted for your serial number.  When prompted, just tell the automated operator that you need technical support and that your printer is the PIXMA TR4720.  There should be no need to tell it your serial number.

A vendor on Amazon sold me a Canadian canon printer. Be aware! The vendor was Triplenet Pricing INC

I had a feeling this might be the case.  Reach out to the seller and request a return or exchange for a product with a US Warranty.  Its not practical to register a product intended for sale elsewhere since you normally cannot get support or warranty where the product is physically located.
