Can't get RMA for CH-20 print head from PIXMA G6020

I just ordered a CH-20 print head directly from Canon for a G6020 printer. Getting an error 7509 when trying to install. Have tried resetting the head several times without success. Replacing the old print head and everything is fine except it prints awful. Tried to contact support for information or an RMA but couldn't through phone because no My Canon account so I created one. My printer is several years old and I never registered it so can't get support through the web site for the print head because the printer is not registered. looks like the only option is buy a 3rd party print head and bite the bullet on the cost for the OEM. I have purchased several Canon printers in the past but NO More..

Any help would be appreciated.

Since the replacement print head does not resolve the issue, the printer would need to be replaced you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program.

But the printer works when I put the old print head back in, no error.

I just checked in my MyCanon account and the printer can be registered.

I'm not sure this will help as you already indicated the printer is well outside of warranty.

Rick, Thanks for the reply. The printer is not the problem. It works with the old print head but although the print head oversaturates everything. I'm just trying to get a RMA to return the print head but with the limited options for phone and MyCanon website I can't even view the order or get through to talk to anyone. I sent a snail mail letter to them today, we'll see if they answer that. If I replace the printer it will not be another Canon.
