Can't clear error 1403 on MX922

I've removed and cleaned the printer head twice since the error message didn't clear after the first cleaning - with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs.  And I've replaced the ink cartridges but I still the the error.  Should I buy a new print head?  I've seen them for sale on ebay for about $75.

Hi Rhbrant01,

 

The 1403 error can be caused by the printhead or a fault in the main logic board.  Because of this, your PIXMA MX922 would require service.

 

If you purchased your PIXMA MX922 less than one year ago, please call or chat with us for your service options.

 

If your PIXMA MX922 was purchased greater than a year ago, it is out of warranty.

 

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program.  This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.  This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
