CANON MG5300 SERIES

Looking for some assistance please! I have a Canon MG5300 All in One and have never had any issues with any of the functions. Just recently, I have been unable to scan and receive an error message stating that either 1-the scanner is not turned on or 2-the USB cable is disconnected.  I have recheked all connections, restarted the coputer, deleted and re-installed the printer without success. I can continue to print and copy without issue, but I need the scan capability restored. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
