Hi,
can someone explain why a Canon IP5200 smears a fat (about 6 mm) black fading bar down the BACK (!!) of the sheet?
This shows up every time the printer has been pausing for > 1/2 hour or so, after 4 or 5 printed pages this mysterious ink reservoir appears to be exhausted, the sheets thereafter are clean - until after the next pause.
See photo below.
TIA
Manfred

Hi Man_Zuf,
With the image and information provided it appears that the printer's issue may be resolved by a bottom plate cleaning. This can be done from your computer. Click on the link below that supports your computer's operating system for additional information.

Hi Caemene,
Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
I'm afraid that Bottom Plate Cleaning will achieve nothing more than printing 4 or 5 pages, as described in my OP, and that the bar will reappear next time, but I'll give it a try anyhow and report back.
