270 and 280-series ink interchangeability

I have read that the 270 inks and the 280 inks are the same but if you put a 270 in a pixma printer requiring 280,

you will get an error code. So??? does that mean the printer won't work or can you dismiss the error code?

Hi,

If a ink cartridge is coded to be used with certain model printers then an error will appear when installing it on a printer that does not support that ink cartridge.
