WHAT software is IDEAL to convert RAW images to JPEG?
There's no easy answer. If you do edits on the RAW file (which, arguably, is the main reason one shoots in RAW), then you probably need to use the same editor for the conversion to JPEG. Otherwise you'll probably lose the edits. There are various editors that will handle RAW, but different cameras create slightly different RAW files. So you need to choose an editor that will stay up to date with the latest changes and ideally will not charge you for updates to new versions. All this favors the camera manufacturer's software (Digital Photo Professional, in Canon's case), but manufacturers' editors tend not to be as feature-rich as third-party editors are. So you have to either do some careful evaluation based on your individual requirements or try several editors and see which one you prefer.
