Hello folks. This is my first post here.

I looking for a any kind of free software for Windows 10 that would allow me to view .CR3 files. I do not need an editing software like Lightroom or Caption 1. I just want to view raw images stored on network on my old trusty computer. that is all.

I spend half a weekend day googling internet for advise.

Any help will be appreciated!

If you go to the Canon support page for your camera, you can download for free Canon Digital Photo Professional software which always supports the most recent Canon cameras. Another advantage to DPP is "digital lens optimizer" and if your camera can save DPRAW files, then DPRAW processing.

I use rawtherapee free software on Debian Linux to edit CR3 files. In "capture sharpening" it does Richardson/Lucy deconvolution to remove small aperture diffraction blur. https://rawtherapee.com/downloads/5.13/  It appears that there is also a version for Windows.

@johnrmoyer Thank you for your lead; unfortunately DPP is for Windows 11 I am trying to install viewer on Windows 10 computer.
Thank you, for rawtherapee link! It does work!

Thanks a lot!

DPP works fine in a Windows 10 virtual machine that I use on Debian Linux.

I did not tried to download and install DPP, Canon website does not offer that version for Win10, and does show for Win11. So, I went with Rawthrapee.

Thanks again!
