Uninstall Canon EOS Utility from MacBook

DJBornemeier

I recently installed Canon EOS Utility onto my MacBook and now my MacBook automaticlly loads the utility and connects to my R5 even when I don't want it to, even after I reboot my MacBook. This prevents it from tethering to Capture One. How can I fully uninstall EOS utility from my MacBook? Thanks!

Not all that familiar with the MacOS, but on Windows there is an EOS Utility Launcher.  This service runs in the background and detects when a Canon camera has been connected to the USB port.  The service determines which camera is connected, and will then launch either EOS Utility 2 or EOS Utility 3.  The service can be disabled.

In order to use the EOS Webcam Utility the EOS Launcher must be disabled in Windows.  I would suspect that the MacOS version has a similar architecture.  The directions for the EOS Webcam Utility may tell you how to disable any EOS Launcher app that runs in the background on a Mac.

Thanks.  Yes I'm new to MacOS as well and that's a lot of my problem.
