If I had to venture a guess, then it would related to the MacOS no longer supports 32-bit software, which means the EOS Utility 2. I think any camera body that does not use EOS Utility 3 may have been the target of this new policy, or soon will be.
Why that would affect the Windows 10 platform is anyone's guess. Maybe it is because both platforms cannot be supported.
Of course, I am completely wrong about this.
EOSU2 works with my T5i and MacBook Air Catalina, so I am guessing it is 64bit.
Interesting. The EOS Utility 2 goes back a number of years, prior to when 64-bit machines became the norm.
Of course, we could both be wrong! It is probably a 48-bit app.
