My upload software no longer recognizes my Powershot ELPH 115IS. I get an error msg: No Camera Found

When I plug the USB cable into my ELPH, the CameraWindow app used to open to let me upload from my camera but now it no longer recognizes my camera.

So, can I download CameraWindow DC8 and reinstall it to let me upload photos from my camera?  One workaround I discovered is that if I go directly into my applications folder and click the icon for CameraWindow DC8, it works fine.
