How to download EOS Remote outside of North America?

HI Everyone,

I'm upgrading my phone next week,  I had EOS Remote installed on my last phone a few years back.  However, I currently live in the Caribbean on an Island called Trinidad and Tobago.  The last time I tried downloading this app outside of North America I remember it wasn't possible as I got an error, "Not available in my country".  I do at the current time use it with my 70D and I do find it useful at times on certain trips on which I can't carry extra gear/laptops etc..for quick editing/viewing.  Does anyone by chance know if this has been fixed?

Yes I've tried from Google Play and Cnet the app itself seems to be blocked by Canon or whomever created it to ban users who live elsewhere from downloading it.  This is the only app in the general google play/android market that I've ever gotten problems downloading in the Caribbean.
