Google Photos automatic sync stopped working. Manual upload to google photos via image.canon works

Canon R3 and image.canon upload works.  Images sync from camera to image.canon site just fine.

I have also configured image.canon website/app to connect to google photos which works fine.  it's connected/authenticated just fine.  using the app it will connect and upload image to google photos.

what stopped working was the automatic sync function between image.canon and google photos.   How do you trigger it to wake up and start automatic transfer again?  it used to work, but not any longer.  I've disconnected/reconnected, manually uploaded 1 image to prove the connection works.  The  option for sync to google photos is also selected.

What else can be done to get the automatic sync to work again?

Hi spking58,

The option to automatically transfer images to Google Photos is in your account settings in image.canon. Once you are logged into your account there will be a listing of the destination services. In the Google Photos section there will be an option for "Automatically Transfer Still Images From Camera". The button to the right of that should be green to show it is active. If it isn't active click on it and that should activate it.

One other thing is to double check the type of photos you are taking. Some photos cannot be transferred to Google Photos. You can not transfer RAW burst images and you can not transfer RAW images taken in HDR to Google Photos.

All of that was checked.  What I said was:

I have 100's of older images that are on the card, that qualify to be uploaded, but do not show up in google photos.   What do you have to do to cause the canon tools to do a full re-sync to ensure all photos are uploaded again and sync'd again to google photos as the don't show up on google photos now.

Support will be happy to troubleshoot this with you one-on-one. They're available Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm (ET) at 800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666).
