Eos Utility Camera Connect Problem With Mac Catalina

Alienoty
Apprentice

Hello,

After updating Mac to catalina Eos Utility and Image Capture fails to connect to camera using cabel.
First it thought it was a camera or cable problem but I tried with Capture One 20 and it works fine.

IS there any update for Eos Utility/camera connect or we just have to wait ? 🙂

Greetings,

If you are using v3.11.1 OS Catalina is said to be supported.  That said, many uses have reported issues.

I think the general consensus is "still waiting"

We would like to offer our sincere apologies to users who have been inconvenienced by this issue.

Details

With the release of macOS 10.15.2 we have confirmed a USB connection issue with “EOS Utility 3.11.1 for Mac OS X” and “Picture Style File Registration Tool 1.0.0 for Mac OS X“ in which the software applications are unable to detect a connected Canon camera.

Support Plan

We are currently preparing to release versions of “EOS Utility for Mac OS X” and “Picture Style File Registration Tool” that incorporate a fix for this issue.

Countermeasure

For EOS cameras with Wi-Fi functionality, the camera can be accessed by the EOS Utility software application via a Wi-Fi connection. For details, please review the user manual.

This issue does not occur with “EOS Utility 3.11.1. for Mac OS X” or “Picture Style File Registration Tool 1.0.0 for Mac OS X”  for macOS 10.15.0/10.15.1.
