I have an EOS R6 Mark II. I’ve been using the remote control app successfully on my iPhone 11. I just upgraded to an iPhone 16 w/ OS 18.1. The correct phone information appears on the Bluetooth screen and Bluetooth is activated, but I keep getting prompted that I'm disconnected. I’ve reconnected a number of times to no avail.
I finally got to a “Preparing” message after much work but the screen is just spinning. Then I get a message that it won’t connect and to check the camera’s Bluetooth settings which are fine. Bluetooth is on and my camera is named on the Bluetooth screen.
Is this an iPhone 16 or OS 18.1 issue? What do I do?
Thanks.

You cannot connect multiple devices to the camera at the same time. This is not a bug. It is a limitation imposed by the hardware and the serial communication protocol.

Waddizzle, you’re right.
I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. The new instructions are insisting that my Canon can only be connected to one Wireless Remote, which the app offers, although I don’t want that feature. So I have to disconnect the BR-E1. Since I much prefer the BR-E1 for remote control to holding an iPhone in my hand to fire the shutter, I'm stuck I think. I need the GPS data to be transferred from my iPhone to the camera, apparently only available via the “Camera Connect” app.
So is there no other way to draw in GPS data? It may not be a “bug” but it’s an unnecessary limitation. Again, what I want is to access the iPhone’s GPS data. How else can I do that?
