Hi all,
i use Canon DPP on Windows 7 and get a strange behavior:
When DPP is running and i create a new folder, both DPP and Windows Explorer are freezing for 10-45 seconds. When DPP is not running, a folder gets created immediately. Similar freezes happens after all file operations, e.g. renaming folder, moving several images to a different folder.
DPP freezes regularly when working with many files (several hundrets in my case), for example when rating images: after rating 10-15 images, DPP freezes for about 30-60 seconds.
DPP always un-freeze afeter waiting long enough.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
I was having this problem for at least the past six months. I'm running Windows 10 Home with an i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and an 8GB Nvidia video card. My OS/Program drive is a 1TB SSD and I have a separate 1TB SSD as my scratch drive.
Two weeks ago did a Windows repair install and thought things had gotten better, but that turned out not to be the case. I ran the compatability checker and that gave me the idea to set DPP4.EXE to Windows XP SP3. Now when I launch the program I get a User Access Control (UAC) prompt to allow the program to make changes, but it is back to working fast like it used to. I not longer get the spinning circle when I do anything. 🙂
