DPP 4.20.11.0 Star rating filter shows incomplete results

I use Canon DPP 4 for the following scenario - reviewing my raw images (CR3), putting star rating, but when I need to apply star rating  filter to get my rated images I got the following problem - result is incomplete, DPP shows only a random part of rated according to filter images. I have about 1000 - 1500 images in folder.

I experience the same problem with DPP v. 4.21.10.0. It is necessary to restart the computer to correct the problem.  Then DPP only works to filter by ratings one time. Then after I save all of my rated image files and reopen the folder to do additional rating, like selecting the best one-star-rated files by rating them with 2 stars and again saving, then DPP no longer shows all the files with a particular rating. Just restarting DPP doesn't fix the problem. The computer needs a restart to temporarily fix the problem. So I am having to repeatedly restart the computer to work with rating my raw images files. This never used to be a problem with DPP.

Canon support had me look at DPP's temporary files settings under Preferences/General. After the phone call I did a reset of the temporary files setting, which changed the location of the temporary files, which I had previously set to a second SSD drive, back to the default: C:\Users\Terry Hogan\AppData\Roaming\Canon_Inc_IC Changing to the default setting solved the problem with the ratings filter not working correctly.
