Canon Mobile App Wont Connect to PowerShot SX530 HS

When I follow the instructions to register my camera in the Canon mobile app (in order to import the photos to my phone), it eventually leads me to this page. I connect it to the cameras wifi and the app recognizes that but then does not give me an option to proceed. The only thing I can press is the X in the top right which leads me back to the beginning and if I press any buttons on the camera the screen goes black. Hi annienemo,

It would be good to double check the screen on the camera once you've gotten the phone on the network. At that point there should be a screen on the camera asking if you want to allow the smartphone to access images on your camera. Once you see that screen on the camera you would select Yes and it would finalize the connection. The screen you should be seeing and the other steps to follow on the camera are on pages 102-104.
