Camera Connect app asking me to enter ASCII or hexadecimal characters

I just got a Canon EOS Rebel T7 and I’m trying to connect it to the Canon Camera Connect app. I got to the point where the camera identified my WiFi. The next option is to enter 8-63 ASCII characters or enter 64 hexadecimal characters. I have no idea what that means or where to find the information! Please help!

I've used the tool on both an EOS R and R8 connecting to both IOS and Android devices.  It is a very cool tool, but be aware that it could time out on you if you don't communicate between the two devices often.  First have you downloaded the wireless function instruction manual at https://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/2/0300029822/02/eos-rebelt7-1500d-wfim2-en.pdf?  I think you might be at step 7 on page 85 and needing to enter in the access point encryption key (aka password).  It should be the same as your wifi password assuming that you are using your wifi router as your access point.  If you're going down that path you'll need to start on page 71.    You might find starting with the easy connection on page 23 to be more manageable.  Page 24 shows you the flow for this process.

And I got to that manual from the Canon T7 support site at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-rebel-t7#idReference%3Dmanuals.  Canon does a really good job at their online support sites.  I use them a lot.  I suggest bookmarking that site and checking in on the the software from time to time as there are sometimes new versions of the software and firmware with bug fixes and improvements.  Hope that helps!
