Where is the User Guide for the Camera Connect App? Also, why doesn't his app transfer images with the location information?
That being said, I have successfully installed and used the app with my G7X. My informal User Guide for using this app is as follows. Any suggested "improvements" to this guide would be appreciated.

In principle, you could connect a cell phone to a computer via its micro-USB port. (How exactly to effect a data transfer in any given case is another matter.) But if you bought the phone from a service provider, its operating system has probably been crippled to prevent any USB data transfer, because they want you to have to transfer the data over their network.
All that aside, connecting the phone to a camera would be trickier, since neither the camera nor the phone has a "Type A" USB interface. You might be able to do it via a USB hub, but it's unlikely to be simple to set up.

I am having a very frustrating problem.
My wife and i have been able to use the camera connect app many times to connect to our eos t6i and transfer images from the "Images on camera" function but now every time i open it, it doesn't show any images. the camera settings are set to "allow all images" to be viewed and i can use the remote function with no problems. i have reset all the settings, deleted and redownloaded the app. restarted my phone and restarted my camera and have followed the user guide exactly several times! what can i still not view any images?!?!
please help!
Sander.

I'm experiencing the same issue on my EOS M100.
I'm unable to view "Images on Camera" function as it will disconnect each time.
I'm able to use the other functions but after resetting network and reinstalling the app, connecting to "Images on Camera" results in a disconnect. I'm using both iPad on iOS 11 and Samsung S7 on Android.
I contacted Canon via email and they told me that it was probably a "software issue" on Androids side even though I'm experiencing this issue on iOS as well.
How to fix? I've connected successfully via bluetooth, NFC, and WiFi but always unable to view Images on Camera.

I have a problem when it comes to hooking up to the camera's hotspot. First off, I should tell you what camera I have and that the PowerShot SX530 HS. Whenever and wherever I connect my phone to the camera, it says that the hotspot is an "unsecured network". So because this happens, I cannot use the Canon Camera app on my phone and send the photos onto my phone. Is there a way I can make the hotspot a "secured network" intead of "unsecured"? Thank you so much!

Can you help me? My PowerShot SX610HS Camera automatically turning on and searching for access point. Why this is happening? How to turn it off?
Thank you.

Hello. I installed Canon Camera Connect on my Samsung Avant to connect to my T6i. It seems to work fine, but I can't close the app without turning off the phone.

Hello fschade,
We understand that closing the app requires you to shut down the phone. We recommend un-installing the application from your device, rebooting the mobile and then re-installing the app. You can download the version for your mobile from a link within the Canon web site, here.

I downloaded latest version of Canon Camera Connect (2.2.20) and am using iOS 11.3.
App crashes continually immediately after opening. Seems to be at "Allow Access to Location" option screen.
Seems like there's an incompatibility issue w iOS 11.3.
Any experience/insights/guidance?/
Thanks!

I have the same versions of Camera Connect and iOS and it works fine on my iPhoneX. Try rebooting your phone and/or deleting and reloading the app. Sometimes that will clear up app problems. Also I suggest you set Camera Connect’s iOS location services to “always”. Good luck...
