Unable to get batteries for R5 Mark 2…what do I do?

I have just purchased a Canon R5 Mark 2 and I want to buy 2 spare batteries LPE6P but they are seemingly out of stock internationally.

In a few weeks I am off on a huge photographic trip and I only have 1 LPE6P battery, which will not be enough for what I need.

what do I do if the correct batteries do not arrive on time?

Big thanks

Jenny

The camera will operate with the older LP-E6NH batteries. There are some restrictions - mostly video when not using the new LP-E6P battery.

You can also charge batteries in camera from a larger power bank and a decent 100W or more USB C cable

Thank you so much for this.

Do you know if the pre shooting can be powered using the NH battery.

According to the PDF manual from the Canon website, page 22 says that pre-continuous shooting is not available with LP-E6N or LP-E6NH batteries.

Both of Brian's recommendations are helpful.  The same thing happened to me when the R5 C was released.  I was taking a trip shortly after delivery as well.  I ended up with some Watson equivalents.  They've been great, but they haven't released any 6P's yet.

I can shoot still images all day on 1-2 batteries. For video I use a power bank and can pretty much use the camera for many hours shooting 4K.  If you will shoot 8K for extended periods, consider a Vmount.  Make sure you use the cable strain relief bracket.
