I just bought a polarizing filter for my R7 kit lens. Are there special settings in the camera that I need in order to get it to work? As I rotate it, I can see the sky getting bluer through the viewer, but then it seems like the camera compensates, and the sky goes back to being washed out. I have it set to Spot Metering and AWB.

If you are just seeing this in the viewfinder, you might want to turn Exposure Sim off.

You probably need to have something else in the shot, and use evaluative metering. Also, don't use too wide of a lens.

Thanks. It was a landscape with both sky (1/3) and trees. I was using from 18-35mm. I will try evaluative metering.

For best results with a CPL filter, you want to remove it so that you can accurately set up your exposure and lock focus.
