Will there be a battery grip for the EOS R7?

Anyone considering a product, any brand or type needs to do enough research first to make sure that it meets their needs. If something doesn't fit your hands consider another model. R1, R3...
If power is concern buy a body that has a battery grip available. This isn't something new, Canon has been releasing products this way for decades. Its simple. Any surprise or disappointment is due to lack of research. Period.

Rick,
I've been photographing sports for 50 years, starting on the sports desk at a small daily in upstate Connecticut. So, yes, I know how to photograph sports. I migrated from the Canon 7D cameras after beating them up with thousands of games photographed.
The Canon R7 has a smaller imaging chip, which allows for a substantially faster frame-rate than the full-frame Canon cameras. This has been very helpful in capturing great sports photographs. I'm quite spoiled by this modern technology, compared to the old film days with 36 images to a roll.
So, YES - I DID MY RESEARCH. I have 50 years of experience with all brands of cameras.
Canon replaced the 7D with the R7, but failed to provide the battery packs for the R7 to match the battery packs for the 7D. As you see, I did my research.
I have found a couple of workarounds for the battery packs, which I am using on my cameras.
I'm sure that Canon's research has shown a huge number of Canon R7 owners asking for a battery pack.
Perhaps someone could contact Canon directly and get an explanation as to why they are not providing such an important item ??? I'd love to hear the results of that research!

Hi, Nate in Maine.
If you are having a problem with your R7 or how it uses Genuine Canon batteries, please contact support at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666).
Regarding "providing such an important item," every Canon product comes with a list of the items that are included with the product, and available accessories. If you require a specific feature for your daily use, we recommend purchasing a camera that either comes with the feature or the required accessory built-in, rather than hoping a feature might be added or assuming an accessory might be manufactured in the future.
FYI, Canon USA hasn't manufactured a battery grip for a Rebel series camera since the Rebel T6i. For other non professional cameras, the EOS 90D, and the R6 Mark II were the last cameras that we made battery grips for.
Hope that helps!
