Vixia HF R40 with UA-100 USB Adapter

Hi - I have a Vixia HF R40 and would like to record directly to a hard disk.  Can I do this using the UA-100 USB Adapter?

To be clear, I need to have clips record directly to the external drive connected by the UA-100 USB Adapter while I am filming.  Bulk download at the end of the session is not useful to me.

Hi gdclarke!

Thank you for the post.  While it is possible to send the already recorded contents to an external hard drive using the UA-100, and it is possible to send the already recorded contents to a digital recorder using the supplied USB cable, it is not possible to record a live feed from the camcorder to an external drive via USB.
