Vixia HF M30 “no memory card” detected when memory card inserted, and usb port not working either

I accidentally dropped this camcorder on the sidewalk once, and although the camera still works, I believe the sd card slot and usb ports got damaged in some way, as I cannot convert the content from the camcorder onto a different device anymore. Is there any way I can get this fixed? I checked this model on the website and it’s “retired” and no longer offering support for it so it would be helpful if there is somewhere I can look to fix my camcorder. Thank you!

Hi cleanpool,

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The Vixia HF M30 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Greetings,

I'd take Ron's suggestion.  You have a 15 yr old damaged camera.   It's time for a new device.

You can take advantage of the Canon upgrade program.  You'll get a small discount and free shipping on a new device.

Be sure to add a neck or wrist strap to the purchase.  😉
