I've never used the Dual Recording only Standard Recording. I have 64gb micro SD cards in both slots.
I understand in dual recording, I can set card A in either AVCHD or MP4 and card B in another mode.
However, dual recording is gray out so I can't select this mode.
Why?

First, I would avoid using micro-SD cards. They cause all sorts of problems.
Are you perhaps using Cinema mode? Page 45 of the User Manual shows Cinema as disabled (i.e. wouldn't be a mode that would support dual slot recording).

I was reading the manual and this is why I wanted to use the feature. As I reread that page, right at the bottom, clear as day, it won't do dual recording in these modes. I changed it and voila, dual recording became available. Now washing egg off my face.
I have movie format set to AVCHD at 59P. Not allowed in dual/mode.
Thank you!
