Hello ~
I am trying to turn the flash off while taking pictures using my Vixia HFM30 and am having no luck. I have read the manual 100 times and what it's telling me to do isn't working.
This is a screen pic from the manual:
No where do I see these options. I put the cam in "M" mode and I do not see any place to select Operating Modes. I've tried everythng and I'm completely stumped.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm beginning to think that the problem is that the camcorder will not switch into Manual Mode using the switch on top of the camera. That makes me furious because this camera has maybe 5 hours use total, has never been dropped and always lives in it's high quality camera bag. Clearly it's not switching into Manual Mode.

Hi thumdar!
Thanks for posting.
When you use the same switch in the video recording mode, does it still not set the camcorder to shoot in manual?
