Not able to initialize +RW dvd in dc230

Hi,

I have  canon DC 230 camera. I have purchased sony DVD +RW mini dvd 2.8GB which is two sided. But when I insert the DVD into camera it says 'Can not read the disc Check the disc'

Can anyone please help me to get it worked. I am not able to initialize the disc. And it is not able to show me number of minutes I can shoot.

Dear Kattevd,

I believe that the most likely cause of the issue is the DVD type and not the camcorder.  Use the DVD-R/RW type not not the '+' type.  The use of the DVD '-' (minus) R/ RW should resolve this issue.  I hope this information is helpful to you!
