Importing Videos to Computer

I have a VIXIA HF R700 and downloaded the software "Transfer Utility LE" to import the videos on my camcorder. I went through each step, but couldn't get it to work. It asks for AVCHD, and I then discovered that my movies are in MP4 format. The only option on the camcorder is to convert them to MP4 format, and I was wondering if there was another software to convert them or some other way to import the videos.

The easiest way is to either use the SD card reader on your computer, or pick up an external usb one. They are not expensive. You can then transfer the video files from the SD card directly to your computer without using any extra software.
